How to: Format the alignment of worksheet cell contents.
Solution:
Select the cell, select 'Cells...' from the 'Format' menu, and select the alignment type on the 'Alignment' properties sheet.
To format the alignment of contents within a cell:
1) Click on the cell to format.
2) Select the 'Format' menu and select 'Cells...'. (The Format Cells dialog box appears.)
3) Click the 'Alignment' tab.
4) Select the desired horizontal alignment option from the 'Horizontal' group.
NOTE: The available options are 'General', 'Left', 'Center', 'Right', 'Fill', 'Justify', and 'Center across selection'. The 'Center across selection' option centers the cell contents across multiple selected cells.
5) Select the desired vertical alignment option from the 'Vertical' group.
NOTE: The available options are 'Top', 'Center', 'Bottom', and 'Justify'.
6) (Optional) Select the desired text orientation option from the 'Orientation' group.
NOTE: If the 'Fill' option is selected for horizontal alignment, the 'Orientation' group is disabled.
7) (Optional) Select the 'Wrap Text' check box to wrap long passage of text within a cell into multiple lines.
8) Click 'OK'.
